Our Sidewalk Installation Process
We start by removing old concrete if you're replacing an existing walkway. The base gets excavated to proper depth and graded for drainage. We compact the subbase thoroughly because a solid foundation prevents settling. Forms get set to the right width and height, with proper slope built in.
When we pour, we use concrete designed for walkway applications. The mix includes air entrainment to resist freeze-thaw cycles, even though Fremont winters are mild. We place expansion joints at regular intervals and finish with a broom texture for traction. Proper curing is critical for long-term durability.
Most walkway projects take one to two days from start to finish, depending on length and complexity.
